The Mochi-making (full-day and half-day) tour is sold out from March 20 to April 30 and May 12 to May 31.

We apologize that the calendar below does not have a block-out function, which means you can still choose dates even if they are already occupied. Thank you for your kind understanding.


  • Reservations will close 10 days prior to the request date. 
  • A minimum number of 2 people (2 adults for the Mochi-making tour) is required.
  • If you apply for the child rate, proof of age (e.g., passport photo) must be shown.
  • Please read through our TOUR TERMS & CONDITIONS (CANCELLATION POLICY) and WAIVER & RELEASE AGREEMENT (scroll down to the bottom of the booking form).
  • Please fill out the form below with the required information to request a tour. This is not an instant booking.
  • We will reply to your email address after confirming the availability of your reservation. 
  • We will inform you of the payment terms in our email. Your reservation is complete when we confirm your payment.
  • ALL tours are closed on Sundays and Japanese National Public Holidays; New Year's Holidays (Dec. 20₋Jan.9), Golden Week (Apr. 26- May 6), and Summer (Aug. 1-25).

Payment

After reviewing your request, we'll email you the tour details and invoice from Square (Visa, Mastercard, and Amex cards accepted).

Your reservation is complete when we have confirmed your payment.

Cancellation policy

In the event of cancellation, the following standard cancellation fees will apply.

Cancellation requests will only be accepted during our business hours (Mon-Sat 9:30am-5:30pm. Closed on holidays). 

Any notice received after our business hours will be deemed received on the next business day. 

Please note that periods are calculated according to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is equivalent to UTC +09:00.

Time of Cancellation Cancellation rate
(1) If notice of cancellation is received by the Company 11 or more days prior to the starting date of the tour

No Charge

 

(2) If notice of cancellation is received by the Company 10 days to 4 days prior to the starting date of the tour 50% of the tour fare
(3) If notice of cancellation is received by the Company 3 days prior to the starting date of the tour 80% of the tour fare
(4) If notice of cancellation is received by the Company 2 days prior to the starting date of the tour 100% of the tour fare

Refund will be made by remittance to your card, minus a deduction for the necessary handling charges.

For example, for a 50% refund, you will receive 50% of the total tour fee minus card handling charges.

 

Waiver & release agreement

I understand that participating in the activities provided by Tour du Lac Biwa entails various risks of accidents/injuries. I release and discharge Tour du Lac Biwa and its officers, agents, and employees from any  liability or claims for injury, illness, death, or loss of or damage to property that I may suffer while participating in the tours and activities of Tour du Lac Biwa. It is my intent to release Tour du Lac Biwa and hold it harmless from all liability for any and all such damage or injury and will have no right to make a claim or file a lawsuit against Tour du Lac Biwa or its officers, agents, or employees.

 

Assumption of Risk (for Participants of the bike tour only)

I understand that participating in a bike tour exposes me to the unavoidable risk of personal injury, loss of life, and loss of or damage to property. It also entails hazards posed by other bicycles and traffic or road conditions. In spite of these risks, I choose to participate in the bike tour and hereby assume all risks and accept full responsibility for any and all such damage or injury which may result. 

  • I understand that this activity may result in severe injury, including but not limited to spinal or head injury.
  • I realize the importance of wearing a helmet and I hereby commit to wearing a helmet at all times while riding the bicycle.
  • I understand that I should be in good physical health and under no influence of alcohol or drugs to participate in the bike tour.
  • I understand how to operate the rental bicycle’s gears and brakes and that I am capable of operating the bicycle safely on city streets. I also commit to staying on the course led by the tour guide and to abide by all directions given by the tour guide.

I hereby expressly agree that this release and waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of Japan and that if any portion hereof is held invalid, the balance shall, notwithstanding continue in full legal force and effect.
